Suddenly, patients!

There comes a point in life, Andromeda has realized, when you really aren't sure that there's anything new that you haven't seen...and then the world has to bite you in the ass and prove you wrong.

Right now is that point.

Andromeda Black (Tonks sounds so strange now, and even if she knows she ought to keep her married name for Teddy's sake, it's too painful right now) opens her eyes and tries not to fall over. The exertion of apparating with a half-dozen people clinging bewilderedly to her arm is significant enough even with her wizarding experience that she's feeling a tad woozy, but since she's got a child in her other arm (oh, just stopping by to give Teddy a quick booster potion, nothing serious could possibly happen), falling over doesn't seem like the best of ideas.

Instead, she reaches for the nearest chair to steady herself -- only to realize that it's rather occupied. It's at that moment that she takes a moment to glance around the office.

Toto, I don't think we're in Kansas any more.

"Bloody hell."

"Well, that's something you don't see every day. Even here," said the man in green.

Edward Nygma had seen some weird shit in his day. After all, he lived in Gotham. He'd been a rogue. He still ran around in a question mark suit. No big deal, right? But seeing a woman appear with a ton of patients on her arms?

...yes, that's a thing.

"Well, here, madam. Take my chair. I estimate Batman will be alerted and here within the hour," he said, almost chipper, as the nurses and doctors began to lose their minds and shout and panic.

The look of utter disbelief on her face should be obvious enough at the mention of 'Batman'. Really, maybe she'd managed to jump them to just the right place if a man in a question mark suit was suggesting she wait for some sort of mutant hybrid to come and set things right again.

She does take the chair, though, setting Teddy down on the table. He helpfully turns his arms into what she is assuming his approximation of a set of bat wings were and she ... well, sighs, glancing over to the huddled patients.

"Everyone just -- remain calm." Most of them were too drugged up to begin worrying, anyway. Poor souls, out of their minds because of torture or worse.

"And you. Uh -- run that by me again?" She raises an eyebrow toward Edward.

Batbaby? That shit, right there? Eddie's eyes bug behind his glasses. "Your name isn't... Langstrom, right?" Because holy shit man-bat, did he have more kids???

Oh, wait, she was asking for more information.

"You're in Arkham Asylum. I dearly hope that's where you meant to go?" Because otherwise? You're in for a real treat.

"I might have said 'somewhere equipped to take care of these patients' rather than somewhere specific.." Which, in retrospect, had been a terrible plan -- but you didn't get picky when you were trying to get people to safety.

Teddy flaps his arms eagerly at Eddie and Andromeda tuts him quietly. "Don't go doing anything that's going to get us kicked out of here, sweets." She purses her lips and glances about at the panicked doctors.

"This is a muggl--non-magical hospital, isn't it." Damn, damn, damn.

"Are these dangerous patients? This is a facility for the criminally insane," Edward pointed out helpfully, watching the child still. "And yes, it is. I believe you've been, ah, less specific than you should have been. This is, at least the most non-offensive wing you could have landed in..."

That wasn't stopping everyone from panicking like crazy, though. "Will they, uh. be alright? They all seem quite heavily medicated and I willingly disarmed before I came in for evaluation."

Evaluation, huh? Well, maybe that explains the suit. She picks Teddy up and lets him loop his arms around her neck (now human again, fortunately) before turning to the patients more fully.

"Well, everyone here is ... not altogether there, but nobody here is criminal. There's separate facilities for that." Still, criminal or not ... magical folk with eccentricities could still cause some interesting problems.

"They just need a warm bed and somewhere I can throw up some protective charms, really."

"I'm going to guess the reason you're here is because of the ley-line base the place is on," Edward says, smile slipping. "I don't suggest you try magic here." Because, you know, the demon prison labyrinth under the Asylum is not a good thing to trifle with.

"I'm Edward Nygma. A pleasure. You are a woman in need, however, and-- oh, yes." His phone is beeping. He pulls it out, and then answers it. "Hello. Funny, you got to this a lot sooner than I expected. No, no, it's alright. I have things well in hand. You might want to arrange for a place for magical, nonviolent asylum inmates to rest, however. I'm sure you cans shake somebody out of your belfry that has space. Yes. Quite. You know we sh-- oh dammit, he hung up."

He addressed Andromeda again with a smile. "Batman's on his way. I'm guessing you have no idea what that means, though."
andromynous: (Uhh that is a great big no)

[personal profile] andromynous 2013-07-14 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm guessing it wasn't what Teddy here is thinking, either." At the mention of Batman, he is again enthusiastically trying to flap his little arms. This time it's just his ears that have changed over to bat-like.

Ah, he'd given his name. It was only polite to do the same, right?

"Andromeda Black." She frowned.

"And it's a good deal of magic that brought us here in the first place. I doubt very much that if that didn't do anything, a few smaller spells would do much at all."
